I’ve been around a long time. My first official business where I had to open a bank account and get business cards was in the late seventies. I started young as an entrepreneur. I sold very large timbers that were used in army ammunition bunkers where they tested explosives. In my first year of this business, I sold over one million dollars in products to the federal government.
After five years in that business a recession hit and I was broke. Two years later I formed a new business, Attitude Marketers International. I sold common sense and motivation to people who wanted to become entrepreneurs. Over the years I brought in millions of dollars doing workforce development. I trained dislocated workers to start their own small businesses. My programs were replicated internationally in Australia and Western Europe, because I focused on blue collar workers and not the “C” office target audience.
I eventually got my undergraduate degree, (after all of the above), in International Business/Economics, then later, a Masters in Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning. That’s fancy for “Adult Education.” Then in 2008, I discovered everyone was moving to the Internet with their business. Ahhh! Had to go back to school to learn all the ins and outs of technology. I’m a grandmother by now.
I was hooked! I could now offer all my knowledge and teachings over the Internet. I just had to learn how to do it. A couple of student loans later, I was in! Now my interactive media background opened many doors of opportunity. But, still I didn’t quite get the jist of how to make money online. More studies, lots of freebie webinars and an opportunity to get certified in Digital Marketing and Landing and Sales Page design for conversions.
My first attempt at placing an international holistic certification course online brought me $9,000 in 10 minutes. I was speechless! I haven’t stopped since.
